Cool Way To Give for Valentines Day

February 4th, 2010 · No Comments

I was just on Amazon ordering a book and decided to take a look at what Amazon Green had to offer. In case you don’t know, this is a part of the Amazon site where they list all the eco friendly products that they carry.

In the Organic Style Storefront I noticed a beautiful selection of fresh cut flowers. Some of these bouquets had names like Snow Leopard Trust Roses, Nature Conservancy Lilies, National Wildlife Federation Daisies, Casa Sunflowers, Women for Women Orange Roses among many others.

When you buy one of these bouquets the organizations they represent will receive between 5 and 10 of the proceeds.

These flowers are not all organic. The ones that are say so. Others have been certified VeriFlora which means that have been grown in a more environmentally friendly way than traditionally grown flowers.

As I was looking around I noticed that the ones I checked said they followed fair labor practices, used sustainable plant production and some mentioned where they were grown. All info I like to know.

After researching organic flowers I became more aware of how I could make a difference by choosing flowers that are grown in a more eco friendly way. Yes, they are little more expensive but if you can afford it well worth the cost. Amazon guarantees your purchase so you can feel comfortable ordering.

Take a look for yourself.
